In an interview with Ekonomim, Topçu Holding General Manager Başar Demircan shared his views on the impact of global geopolitical developments on industry and the strategic importance of domestic production.

Demircan emphasized that wars and international tensions create vulnerabilities in supply chains and energy networks, stating that Türkiye’s strongest safeguard against such risks is domestic manufacturing.

Highlighting that the machinery industry carries not only economic but also strategic significance, Demircan noted that countries capable of producing their own technologies and machinery are better positioned to maintain production continuity during times of crisis.

Demircan also stated that, through the Ozco brand, they provide domestically manufactured machine tools and production technologies to Turkish industry. He underlined that local machinery production reduces external dependency while supporting the competitiveness and sustainability of the industrial sector. Furthermore, he stressed that strengthening Türkiye’s manufacturing infrastructure through domestic engineering and technology plays a critical role in achieving economic independence and long-term growth.
